THE LORE AND ALLURE OF LORING
Brian Loring Bows at the Bistro
Monday, April 28th, 2008Another one of those great "up from the bootstraps" winemaking stories is that of Brian Loring. One of the early and definitive "garagistas" of Santa Barbara cult winemaking, Brian's bounty has burgeoned with the likes of some of the finest small-lot, hand-crafted Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs around.
For this debut dinner, Chefs Damon and Keiji will work closely with the best Ventura, Oxnard, Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez suppliers of fresh ingredients to define a degustation fashioned for five of Loring's finest. The wines are all R. S. (Robert Simon) 90+ rated and include: 2006 Parmelee Hill Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (only 25 cases or one barrel produced!), 2006 Shea Willamette Pinot Noir (400 cases), 2006 Rosella's Santa Lucia Pinot Noir (900 cases), 2006 Aubaine San Luis Obispo Pinot Noir and, finally, the 2006 Clos Pepe Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (600 cases). They will all impress beyond expectation and leave you panting for more Pinot - we promise!
Dinner begins at 6:00PM and costs $85.00 per individual, plus tax and gratuity.
A representative from the Duke will be there so you can purchase any of the wines you enjoy.
