is one of those deals that comes along only once in a long while. We (The Duke Staff) tasted this wine and could not believe what we had in our glass. This Cabernet Sauvignon tasted like wines selling for $40.00 or more per bottle. When our winery rep told us the cost, we were amazed that we could sell this beautifully aged wine for as low as 15.00 dollars per bottle...lucky we were sitting down. We liked it so much that we secured every bottle available. Wow is what you will say after trying this very tasty, ready-to-drink-tonight-yet-will-age-nicely bottle of wine. Make some room in your wine racks, because, believe us, you are going to want cases of this wine. Guaranteed! The Winiarski family, previous owners of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, has produced Hawk Crest wines since 1974 and over the years has carefully selected specific vineyards in some of California's most promising growing areas. "This high elevation vineyard, with red gravelly loam soil and rolling volcanic terrain, is particularly suited for growing superior Cabernet Sauvignon and produces compact clusters with small berries, well-structured tannins, and rich fruit flavors that inspire a minimalist approach in the cellar," said Proprietor Warren Winiarski and Hawk Crest winemaker Mark Smith.
The winery's list price on this wine is $28.00. Duke's price is $14.99 per bottle.
Case price is $167.88 ($13.99 per bottle)
, that's a 50% savings.
