Oh, the sacrifices we make at the DUKE when it comes to finding all the terrific wines we share with each and every one of you! It's not as easy as you might think. We taste a lot of average wines (and, yes, some very poor wines) to get to the wines we think are really good.

And we've done it again!

This time, we've come up with a great-value Pinot Noir that we know you will enjoy . . . most likely as much as we did. Hangtime 2007 Pinot Noir, Arroyo Seco is produced by Rob Mondavi and Tony Coltrin. Rob is Michael Mondavi's son and Tony spent most of his 32-year career making wine at Robert Mondavi Winery.

Located in the heart of California's Monterey County, the Arroyo Seco area boasts one of California's longest grape-growing seasons. The grapes were able to stay on the vine for 143 days, developing intense, balanced fruit flavors. The wine was aged in 100% French oak barrels, 33% new, for seven months to add roundness and a zesty spice tone.

The extended hangtime, cool climate and careful winemaking combined to produce a rich Pinot Noir with lovely ripe-fig and rose-petal aromas, supple blackberry and red raspberry flavors, and a long, lingering finish.
