Cheers! from the Duke of Bourbon
We have been excited about the wines from Krupp Brothers for many years. Our friends, Dr. Jan Krupp and Bart Krupp, own the magnificent Stagecoach Vineyard on Napa's Pritchard Hill just above Oakville. This 600+-acre property supplies grapes to many of the most iconic wineries in Napa Valley.
Krupp Brothers only retains about 6% of each year's harvest for its own outstanding wines. Of that 6%, an even smaller amount goes towards its top label - the Krupp series. We're pleased to offer one of those wines - Krupp Brothers 2004 "Joshua" Syrah - at an amazing 50%+ discount!
The winery describes this wine as follows:
"
Deep red with black tints. The nose of the 2004 "Joshua" Syrah is full of blueberries, violets, boysenberry, raspberries, rhubarb, panna cotta with fruits of the forest. These aromas flow through to a wonderfully varietal palate with loads of blackberries, blueberries and soft white pepper. The mouthfeel is beautifully balanced with firm chalky tannins intermingling with fruit on the fine persistent finish. Drink now through 2015. Enjoy with Pork Tenderloin with orange and rosemary glaze, roast stuffed squab, veal blanquette or rare venison. "
One hundred percent Syrah and sourced from a single, special Syrah block at Stagecoach Vineyard, only 203 cases were produced, which makes this wine a rare find. The Syrah clone used is rumored to originate from a very special place in Hermitage in France's Rhône Valley.
This special Syrah
