HEMP
one of nature's most versatile plants

Hemp is one of nature's most versatile plants, grown throughout the world for its fiber and seeds. The long fibers of the stalk are used to make paper, rope, canvas and even clothes. Its seeds are rich in protein and carbohydrates and make a unique contribution to our beers.

As North America's first beer brewed with hemp seeds, Hempen Ale, a brown ale, and its lighter counterpart Hempen Gold, a cream ale, have garnered international acclaim from beer writers and consumers alike as the year's most innovative new beer products. Both are currently available in 27 states and the District of Columbia.

First released last April, Hempen Ale was awarded a bronze medal for brewing excellence in the herb/spice category at the 16th Great American Beer Festival, the nation's largest and most prestigious beer event. Hempen Ale was also an award-winner at the recent Hemp Industries Association conference, where it was recognized by HempWorld magazine for product innovation.

Hempen Ale is an American brown ale, moderately spicy with Cascade hops. Hempen Gold, a cream ale brewed with hemp seeds, is light, mild and delicately accented with Centennial and Saaz hops. The hemp seeds add a silky smoothness and mild herbal flavor.
