Notice the two grooves cut in each of the bowls at their greatest diameters

ABOVE: a genuine calabash, with a white meerschaum bowl insert and a gourd body. The stem in this case is vulcanite, and the pipe rests in a special oak and acrylic stand.

BELOW: a briar calabash with a horn insert at the shank.

Two Canadians of identical shape; both have pot bowls and oval shanks.

A chubby pipe with tapered stem.

Four Danish-style pipes (all are actually from Denmark, by the way).
The upper pipe is a pointed Dublin bowl. The next one down is an arrow bowl.
The other two pipes obviously have the same general shape, but are tending more towards being freehands. Still, some producers and retailers may refer to all of these as "Danish" shapes.

Two freehand pipes; both happen to be from Denmark.

The pipe on the left would be called a "Woodstock" in most circles. Some would use the same name for the pipe shape on the right as well.
